Not far from the Colosseum and St. John in Lateran we find this basilica dedicated to S Clement, the third pope after St. Peter, which is an interesting complex of 3 levels, each visitable: the Basilica of the 12th century lies on the lower level of the previous 4th century basilica, where you can admire frescoes (including the first example of a comic strip in the history!). Going further down we find a set of Roman buildings consisting of an insula (the roman complex of apartments) with a mithraeum and a series of chambers belonging to a domus.
